Software Training
Getting the most out of software can greatly improve your productivity. Amplified across staff within the business through group training, whole departments and even the company itself can benefit straight away.
People learn in different ways and so it's important to make sure that you select the right learning, or blended learning, package that's right for you. Reach out to us for a chat about what options there are and what might work best for you.
Types of Training
We can be flexible in the kind of training offered, what material is provided, training duration and session size as well as how it is delivered. Again, it's what's right for you and for your staff.
- Refresher courses can sometimes be ideal for people that have already been through a training session or who use the software in question regularly. They are an opportunity to fill in knowledge gaps or to check the way you are doing things are the most effective. These sessions are often scheduled for half-days but can be longer or shorter as desired.
- Remote, including video learning is becoming more common. The exact blend of delivery would be tailored to you but can consist of learn-on-demand video and material as well as 1:1 or group video sessions to check in and get opportunity to ask questions. Further to that, more traditional, live, learning sessions can be held via video session link if required.
- Post-learning support is often something we recommend as a "bolt on". For some time after the training session delegates are able to reach out with any queries or follow up questions that they either didn't think to ask on the day or based on new situations they've found themselves in.
- Training artifacts (what we used to call "handouts"!) can be supplied if required, although we find that the post-learning support sessions are a more efficient way of delivering any handholding needed from the learning session.
Group size
- 1:1 training sessions are available. By their very nature these can be quite intense but are ideal for a more bespoke or consultative approach or where there are specific elements of the training session that need to be delved into. Remember that we can deliver a mixed learning experience of group and 1:1 learning sessions during the day, which we have found works very well.
- Small group tutorial sessions are great for small departments or those people that often work together on the same set of software. The opporutnity for both knowledge sharing and process sharing is really good with these size sessions.
- Lecture or large group sessions are suited to larger organisations that need to get information across in a cost efficient way. We try to build in enough opportunity for knowledge sharing and questions as we go through and we also allow time to try to make sure everyone proceeds at the same pace.
Topics covered
We'd be happy to hear what kind of software challenges that you have, but here is a list of training courses that have previously been delivered:
- Microsoft Office We offer training across all of the core Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint. The sessions are designed to be as handson as possible and we make sure we cover the lesser known features which are key to unlocking productivity.
- Microsoft Access has and continues to be the backbone of many businesses as it provides an extendable, accessable and flexible way for your business database needs to be managed. By understanding the full range of options you'll be able to get Microsoft Access working for you.
- Designing & Developing a website has always been a popular course and is ideal for those people that want to understand a little more of the technical side on how they can make their website stand out. It can also go into functionality and ecommerce elements if you wish.
- Microsoft Project is a powerful tool and one that can benefit your business if used correctly. We dive into the fundamentals with simple example projects and then extend it to show how teams and resources can be managed over several concurrent projects.
- Driving Business to your Website is an example of a specialist course we have run in the past. It is ideal for content generators as well as those in the marketing team. It deals with everything from the page content, design and SEO aspects.
Locations and learning spaces
Even if you have space in your own premises, it is sometimes good to learn in a new environment. Either way, we can source training venues near you through our list of contacts. We can also source refreshments and lunch if appropriate.
We want your staff's training session to be as comfortable as possible so that they can concentrate on the new skills that they are learning.
Alas, we are unable to provide hardware so we would be looking for these to be provided by the delegates themselves.
At DM Consulting, we understand the importance of high quality training and are ready to work with you on what the ideal training session looks like. Reach out to us today, and let's turn your software vision into reality with precision and confidence.
